After voluntarily terminating my parental rights in the aftermath of intimate partner violence, I began sharing my story to raise awareness about the lack of support for survivors fleeing unsafe situations with children. I have lived experiences navigating abuse, poverty, chronic homelessness, complex PTSD, depression, ADHD, relationship transitions, relocation, grief, estrangement, isolation, and numerous health challenges, both physical and mental, that compounded these struggles. I have faced profound loss and had to completely rebuild my life multiple times, learning resilience, resourcefulness, and self-advocacy along the way. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of systemic barriers, the gaps in support networks, and the courage to advocate for others who have faced similar hardships. Through sharing my journey, I aim to elevate the voices of those often overlooked, showing that survival and transformation are possible even in the most challenging circumstances.
