I'm a 32 year old woman who survived childhood sexual abuse and eventually got diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. It took me a long time to figure out how to have more control over my emotions, how to get through feelings of abandonment, how to resist impulsive behaviors, and begin forming a stable identity. I believe maybe if I had had someone to talk to who had been through something similar when I was younger, maybe the transition to adulthood wouldn't be so hard, and maybe I wouldn't have lost so many years to hopelessness. I would love to be able to support someone in their journey and try to help them get through the hard parts so they can see that things can get better.
