English, Portuguese From Portugal living in Virginia True healing comes in many shapes and forms. To me, a lot of the times it came in the form of late night talks with friends that were kind enough to hear me complain about the same thing for the millionth time. I truly believe that in order to change you need to be ready for it. I can either help you be ready for that change or I can help carry the weight of what you’re going through - there’s no right or wrong way to go about it, only what will be best for you in this moment. My true goal is to be for you what those talks with my friends were to me: something that made me carry on and eventually be ready for change. I’ve been married for almost 3 years, most of that time as a Military Spouse. I’m also the mother of a 1-year-old baby boy. Postpartum and parenthood is hard, but for me the hardest challenge was seeing myself give the love that I knew I deserved as a child and how little people talk about that “ah-ha” moment of realization. Whether you need resources, advice, a listening ear, or support as you navigate your own challenges, I’m here to help. Healthy relationships after abuse are incredibly hard to navigate - “You’re telling me this person isn’t hiding anything? Isn’t cheating? Isn’t purposely hurting me? How can that be possible?” Just know that you’re not alone. Navigating healthy dynamics after abuse is uncomfortable and unfamiliar. Often enough, that discomfort pushes people back into unhealthy relationships to regain that sense of familiarity. Growing up around dysfunction, I learned to challenge unhealthy patterns, and my greatest journey has been embracing a healthy, imperfect, loving marriage after abuse.
